christy zehr [biography]

I was born in Illinois. At thirteen I moved to Saipan. That is where my love of photography first began. At fourteen, I took my first black and white photography class. The first time I was in a darkroom, it was electric. To this day I can loose my self for hours inside a darkroom.
I moved to Hawaii at 17 to study marketing at the University of Hawaii. I continued my study of photography as well. In my early twenties, I got my first digital camera. The instant gratification of seeing my photos and ease of editing them was amazing. After graduation, I worked for a few years doing portrait photography. Unfortunately the monotony of taking the same picture over and over killed my creative spirit. So I quit and went back to school and got a second degree in photography. Since then I have traveled around the world (well, Europe) photographing and at home continue to take pictures whenever I have the opportunity.
In June 2008, I moved to San Francisco. I am working to continue building my portfolio and to put my work into some local galleries. If you are in the bay area and would like to collaborate on a project, send an email to photo[at]creativelycreated.com!
